This article is for foreigners starting a business in Poland. Profil zaufany (trusted profile) is a free electronic signature for public services. Without it you cannot register a JDG online in CEIDG or log in to ZUS PUE (eZUS) and e-Urząd Skarbowy. You can get it in a day.

Need a karta pobytu, a CUKR card or a work permit? We prepare the MOS application and handle the case at the office under a power of attorney.

What a foreigner needs

  • A PESEL number. Without a PESEL you cannot set up a profil zaufany.
  • An email address.
  • A mobile phone number for confirmation codes.
  • A passport or other ID if you confirm the profile in person.

Option 1: through a Polish bank

The fastest route. If you have an account with online banking at a Polish bank, you can set up the profile there, usually in a few minutes, because the bank has already verified your identity. Most large banks offer this. If yours does not, use the second option.

Option 2: in person at a confirmation point

  • Submit the application at pz.gov.pl: your details, PESEL, email and phone.
  • Within 14 days, visit a confirmation point (punkt potwierdzający) with your passport, for example a municipal office, a ZUS branch or a tax office.
  • The profile is active immediately after confirmation.

Validity and common mistakes

  • The profile is valid for 3 years and can be extended online before it expires.
  • Your first and last name in the application must match the PESEL register record exactly, including the Latin spelling. If they do not, the bank or confirmation point will refuse.
  • If your phone number changes, update it in the profile: without the SMS code you cannot sign documents.

Once the profile is ready, you can register a business. Step by step in how to register a JDG in Poland in 2026. If you would rather not deal with it yourself, we can register the JDG for you.
